Every year’s Grandparents’ Day at ISYC is another opportunity for us to showcase our great love and thanks to our dear grandparents, and this year was certainly no exception! With the title, “Best Movie Soundtracks of All Time,” the ISYC Grandparents’ Day 2017 held last September 23 at the Assumpta Theater in Assumption was intended to recreate the glitz and glamour of an Academy Awards Night. The life-sized golden Oscar statues were certainly not to be missed! The entire event featured iconic and unforgettable hits from movies from the 1960s to the present, and though unified by a common theme, the presentations nevertheless represented a rich variety designed to cater to different tastes. Some of the well-loved soundtracks the students danced to included the classic “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”; the spectacular “New York, New York”; the thrilling “Mission Impossible Theme”; and the flashy “Jai Ho!”. All stops were pulled and no effort was spared in making sure that every detail of the event showcased the excellence that every member of the audience deserved. Certainly, each day spent rehearsing and preparing for this year’s Grandparents’ Day was a labor of love and a source of joy, for it is the children’s gift to some of the people who love the most.
