Faculty and Staff

ISYC’s staff is the central factor in our school’s success. Our administrators and teachers have many, many years of experience and education in Early Childhood Education. They are all caring professionals who are dedicated to providing the absolute best for young children.

Teacher Anna
Teacher Anna holds a degree in BA Philippine Studies major in Psychology from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. All of her teaching experiences have been with ISYC. “There is a sense of community at ISYC that is evident everyday. Students, parents, teachers and other staff members are actively involved with each other. I find it fulfilling to be part of a child’s development but I also find it rewarding that I am part of a bigger family — my ISYC family, together with all the teachers, parents and students. It makes teaching definitely worth it!

Outside the school, Teacher Anna enjoys reading, surfing the net and going to the mall with her daughter Jana.

Teacher Cheryl
Teacher Cheryl taught in a traditional school before joining ISYC in 2008. She received her degree in BS Psychology from Miriam College and is now taking up her MA in Early Childhood Education major in SpEd at St. Joseph’s College.

She “simply enjoys being with the children. I love the moment when one of our young students realizes that by saying sounds together they can create a word. By creating words, they can read.”

Teacher Cheryl enjoys playing computer games, playing badminton, swimming and travelling.

Teacher Donna
Teacher Donna has been teaching for nine years and professes, “I love teaching because I like being able to impart knowledge tochildren and serving as their mentor.”

She graduated with a degree in BS Behavioral Science at Miriam College and completed her MA in Childhood Education in 2005.

She loves to read, surf the net, go outdoors and spend time with her son, Kib.

Teacher Grace
This is Teacher Grace’s second year in ISYC. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2008 with a degree in BS Psychology and is currently finishing her practicum to complete her MA in Special Education at Miriam College. She finds fulfillment in teaching when “I see my students learn and improve.” Knowing full well that children learn through active learning experiences, Teacher Grace says, “I particularly enjoy preparing an environment that imbibes positive energy.” This inspires her to give her best in everything she does.

Teacher Grace is also into photography, more specifically, lomography. Here, she creatively captures images and produces effects like: light leaks, vignette framing and deep saturated colors.

Teacher Inna
With a degree in BS Child Development and Education from Miriam College and a five-year teaching experience under her belt, Teacher Inna is more than just a pretty face. “I love the moment when I see the children smile at me every time they learn something new, whether a concept or a skill. I feel a sense of pride whenever they finish a task on their own. Most of all, I appreciate the unconditional love that my students show me. These reasons give me the inspiration to teach
better every year.”

If she is not busy teaching, Teacher Inna enjoys surfing the net, playing keyboards, drawing and eating.

Teacher Joan
Teacher Joan is one of the pioneers at ISYC. “At ISYC, I am given all the resources and support necessary to be a successful educator. ISYC values each student’s individual learning style and encourages professional development opportunities for all teachers. I also appreciate the parents’ strong commitment and dedication to learning shown through their active participation in their children’s education.”

Teacher Joan earned her degree in BS Psychology at Centro Escolar University. This is her 11th year at ISYC and believes that “learning is an ongoing process and that children actively construct knowledge about the world.” She sees children as “makers of meaning” — resourceful and self-motivated.

Teacher Jojie
Teacher Jojie joined ISYC in 2002. She received her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from Miriam College and took up master’s units in Early Childhood Education from the same school.

She considers Friday as her favorite day in the week. Not because it is the last day of the school week but because it is the day when she gets to relax with her students. During this day, they go to the playground and enjoy outdoor activities — a much-needed reward for the children’s hard work and learning from Monday to Thursday.

She loves reading Mitch Albom books, surfing the net, going to malls, listening to music and watching movies. She is also into mountain biking, cooking and baking. Much to the chagrin of her husband, she is addicted to playing PSP and Angry Birds.

With 10 years teaching experience up her sleeve, she finds fulfillment in “seeing my students grow everyday, knowing that they are able to read, write, count and enjoy going to school on my watch. This makes all the hard work and preparation all worth it.”

When not busy in school you will find her reading, watching American movies, tv series and koreanovelas. She is also a member of the Reading Association of the Philippines.

Teacher Miriam
Teacher Miriam’s favorite part of teaching is “being able to develop a child’s love for learning and nurturing his/her creativity, critical thinking, social skills and curiosity about the world.” “I like to teach children to respect one’s self because one can neither have love nor respect for others if they cannot respect him/herself,” she says.

Teacher Miriam holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines in Diliman and completed her

After all, children are all the same, some are just differently abled.” she explains.

Teacher Nina loves listening to music and reading inspirational books. She considers singing as her greatest talent.

Teacher Pia
